![]() ![]() I consider these only for competition and target shooting. Most run in the 8oz range but have taken some down to as little as 4oz. I shoot IHMSA and I have several frames that I have done trigger jobs on. I guess it all depends on what you consider to be a good trigger. The original contender and more so the one categorized as easy open have triggers that out of the box and with a little work are much easier to obtain a good trigger than a G2. Got it down to a fairly good four by changing some springs. The second and newest G-2, no trigger job. And, it is better than the trigger on an older late 70's frame, which had some use however. An action-trigger job was included in the deal on the first G-2 and the trigger has held at 2-2 1/2 lbs clean and sharp, and rivals any of the target pistols that I have had. One about two years old now and the other about a year. But if you meant that a fine trigger job can't be done on a newer G-2, not so much. If you meant as the Contender's came out of the box, I would agree. So am somewhat familiar with triggers on handguns. After that it was police combat and any more it's pistol bench rest with cast bullets. I am an old pistolero left over from the sixties during which I competed for probably ten years or so during the bulls eye days. You can get a much better trigger job than you will with a G2 ![]()
